The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) releases the latest weather update in “Bagyong Fabian” on July 17, 2021.
As per latest report issued at 5:00 PM, the center of the Tropical Depression “Bagyong” Fabian was estimated at 1,205 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/hr near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h.
Bagyong Fabian may reach the tropical storm category within 12 hours and may reach typhoon category by Tuesday morning.

Bagyong Fabian is moving north northwestward direction at 20 km/h.
“The tropical despression may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday afternoon or evening while moving towards the southern portion of Ryukuy Islands.”, PAGASA added.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal
There is no tropical cyclone warning signal in effect at any places around the country.
Heavy Rainfall Warning
PAGASA said that heavy rainfall is not expected in the country. However, Fabian will enhance the southwest monsoon which may bring rains over Palawan and Oriental Mindoro within 24 hours. Likewise, it is less likely to have hazardous effects in coastal waters and sea conditions which may be risky to mariners.
Reminders
Despite lesser risks of Bagyong Fabian, PAGASA warned the public and the disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to be alert and impose measures to protect life and property.
Those living in areas which are identified to be highly susceptible to hazards shall follow evacuation plans of Local Government Units (LGUs) and its officials.
PAGASA also advised everyone to keep tuning in at their weather updates for heavy rainfall and thunderstorm warnings.
