Bagyong Fabian Weather Update as of July 18, 2021 (Track, Warning Signal)

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) releases the latest weather update in “Bagyong Fabian” on July 18, 2021.

As per latest report issued at 5:00 AM, PAGASA said Bagyong Fabian intensifies into a tropical storm at 2:00AM July 17, 2021. The center of the Tropical Storm/ “Bagyong” Fabian was estimated at 1,090 km East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h.

It is likely that Fabian may reach the typhoon category by Tuesday evening and may reach 140 km/h before its potential landfall in mainland China.

Bagyong Fabian is moving North northwestward at 10 km/h.

“FABIAN will remain far from the Philippine landmass throughout the forecast period. The tropical cyclone will maintain a north northwestward or northwestward heading at a consistent speed until Monday evening, when it is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).”, PAGASA added.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal

There is no tropical cyclone warning signal in effect at any places around the country.

Heavy Rainfall Warning

PAGASA said it is unlikely to bring heavy rainfall in the country throughout the forecast period. However, Fabian is currently enhancing the Southwest Monsoon. The areas of Western Visayas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro will experience monsoon rains in the next 24 hours.

Reminders

Amidst the risks of Bagyong Fabian, PAGASA warned the public and the disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to be alert and impose measures to protect life and property.

Those living in areas which are identified to be highly susceptible to hazards shall follow evacuation plans of Local Government Units (LGUs) and its officials.

PAGASA also advised everyone to keep tuning in at their weather updates for heavy rainfall and thunderstorm warnings.
