Manila, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has released the latest COVID-19 update for our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) on Wednesday, 16 June 2021. The DFA reported two (2) new COVID-19 cases among our Filipinos working abroad.
Meanwhile, zero (0) death has been reported.
A total confirmed cases as of June 16, 2021 ballooned to 20,276 OFWs, of these 4,578 were verified by the DOH IHR.
1,219 were reported total deaths and 12,085 were reported total recoveries by the DFA.
A total of 1,219 OFWs were reported deaths, of these 812 were from the Middle East and Africa, 33 were from Asia Pacific Region, 130 were from Europe and 244 were from Americas.
Likewise, the DFA also reported that 12,085 OFWs were reported discharge/recovered, of these 6,293 were from the Middle East and Africa, 2,695 were from Asia Pacific Region, 2,470 were from Europe and 627 were from Americas.
Meanwhile, a total of 6,817 OFWs were subject for undergoing treatment, of these 4,273 were from the Middle East and Africa, 1,499 were from Asia Pacific Region, 930 were from Europe and 115 were from Americas.

As of June 16, the Department of Health (DOH) said that the number of active cases in the Philippines is slightly decreased to 56,170 with 5,414 reported new cases today. 7,637 were reported new recoveries. Complete details are presented in the table below.
