DFA UPDATES: OFW COVID-19 Cases as of May 22, 2021

Manila, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has released the latest COVID-19 update for our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) on Saturday, 22 May 2021. The DFA reported 24 new Covid-19 cases, 5 new deaths has been reported and 4 new recoveries among our Filipinos working abroad.

 The total cases of countries/territories with Filipino Covid-10 cases remains at 94.

A total confirmed cases of 18,658 OFWs were infected by the virus. About 0.06% or 1,168 of the total confirmed cases were reported deaths and about 61.1% or 11,400 of the total confirmed cases were reported recoveries by the DFA.

Meanwhile, a total of 6,090 OFWs were subject for undergoing treatment. 3,796 out of the 6,090 were from the Middle East and Africa, 1,231 out of 6,090 were from Asia Pacific Region, 949 out of the 6,090 were from Europe and 114 out of 6,090 were from Americas.

According to the DFA, the total number of COVID-19 recoveries and deaths marginally decrease to 61.10% and 6.24%, respectively. Meanwhile those undergoing treatment has increased to 32.65%.

Latest COVID-19 Tally as of May 22, 2021 (Philippines)

As of May 22, the Department of Health (DOH) said that the number of active cases in the Philippines has increased by 6,831 giving a total active cases to 54,326. There were 7,981 new recoveries giving the total number of recoveries to 1,103,945. Complete details are presented in the table below.
