DOH: Latest COVID-19 Tally as of June 15, 2021 (Philippines)

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Health (DOH) of the Philippines has released the latest COVID-19 tally of active cases, deaths and recoveries on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

The number of active cases in the Philippines has increased by 5,389. The total active cases in the Philippines has now ballooned to 58,063.

Meanwhile, 6,667 has been reported new recoveries in the country. Complete details are presented in the table below.

Covid-19 Tally in the Philippines

According to DOH, 91.8% of the total Active Covid-19 Cases are mild cases and only 3.8% are asymptomatic. Only 1.3% are in the critical case while about 1.8% have severe cases. 1.30% are categorized are moderate.

According also to the DOH, 59% or almost 1.9k ICU beds in the Philippines are utilized. 47% or almost 13.6k isolation beds are in used and about 48% or almost 6k ward beds in the country are occupied. Meanwhile, 37% or 2k of the ventilators in the country are fully occupied.

According also to the data showed by the DOH, 46% or almost 0.7k ICU beds in NCR are utilized. 36% or almost 3.8k isolation beds are in used and about 33% or almost 2.2k ward beds in NCR are occupied. Meanwhile, 33% of the ventilators in NCR are fully occupied.

Indian Variant “B.1.617” in the Philippines

The DOH confirms that the corona virus variant “B.1.617” that was first discovered in India has been detected in the Philippines. The infected with the B.1.617 variant are both male OFWs, on is a 37 years old from Oman while the other is a 38year old who arrived from the UAE.

The DOH reported 10 new cases of Indian corona virus variant “B.1.617” that has been detected in the country. 9 of the 10 cases are crew from MV Athens while one is a returning OFW.

Travel Advisories

Amid pandemic, both local and international and local travels are of strict guidelines to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

According the the Department of Foreign Affairs,

  • All arriving Filipino passengers, including their spouse and children (Filipino or foreign), shall be allowed entry subject to quarantine procedures.
  • Foreign crew members as well as foreign government and International Organization officials accredited to the Philippines shall be allowed entry.
  • Land, air, and sea travel of uniformed personnel for official business, especially those transporting medical supplies, laboratory specimens, related to COVID-19, and other humanitarian assistance, shall be allowed.

Status of Lockdown

Update as of June 15, 2021: The GCQ with some restriction and GCQ with heightened restriction classification has announced on Monday and extended up to June 31, 2021. These include the following places:

  • Metro Manila & BULACAN (with some restriction)
  • Cavite, Rizal & Laguna (with heightened restrictions)

The City of Santiago, Ifugao, Cagayan, Apayao, Ifugao, Bataan, Lucena City, Puerto Princesa, Naga City, Iloilo City, IloIlo, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, Cagayan de Oro City, Davao City, Butuan City, Agusan Del Sur, Dinagat Islands and Surigao Del Sure were placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine due to increasing number of Covid-19 cases that will last until end of June.

Will the Ordinary GCQ will be possible in July 2021?

From MECQ to GCQ with restriction, the NCR and Bulacan has been placed to GCQ with some restriction and Rizal, Laguna and Cavite has been placed to

GCQ with heightened restriction with the strong implementation and guidelines by the IATF.

GCQ With Restrictions Explained

“Itong restriction, ito yong limited number of persons magkain. Whenever there is a grouping of human beings, talaga susundin ninyo social distancing, lahat na,” President Duterte said in a taped speech.

Under the new classification, travel to and travel from NCR Plus shall be remained restricted. Dine-in (30%), Gyms (30%), Tourist spots and Religious gathering shall also be remained limited.

Some restrictions shall still be in place in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces limiting the capacities of certain industries.

GCQ With Heightened Restrictions Explained

Secretary Harry Roque explained the GCQ with heightened restrictions that will be imposed in the province of Rizal, Laguna and Cavite until June 30 as follows:

Transportation

  • Only the essential travel in and out of NCR Plus are allowed.
  • Public transportation is still operational provided that the capacities and protocols is in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Use of active transportation shall be promoted
  • Individuals from18 years old to 65 years old is allowed to leave their homes in GCQ areas with heightened restrictions.

Dine-In

  • Individuals from18 years old to 65 years old is allowed to leave their homes in GCQ areas with heightened restrictions.

Tourist Spots

  • 30% with strict adherence to minimum public health standards maybe opened for outdoor tourist spots.

Specialized Markets of Department of Tourism

“Further allowed in the NCR Plus are specialized markets of the Department of Tourism (DOT) following the minimum public health standards and implementation of protocols and restrictions as set by the DOT,” said Sec. Roque.

Religious Gatherings

  • 30% venue capacity is allowed in Religious gatherings, gatherings for necrological services, wakes, inurnment and funerals.

Others

  •  30% capacity is allowed in GCQ areas with heightened restrictions for non-contact sports in outdoor contact sports, games, scrimmages. Likewise, 30% capacity is also allowed for personal care services that allow for services not requiring mask removal, such as salons, parlors, beauty clinics and etc.

Allowed in MECQ, GCQ with restriction and Ordinary GCQ

  • Lottery games is temporarily allowed (inclusion in negative list suspended via Reso 115)
  • Areas under GCQ with restriction and GCQ are temporarily allowed in Horse racing with off-track betting (OTB) stations (inclusion in negative list suspended via Reso 114).
  • Areas under MECQ: Outdoor contact sports, games, scrimmages such as individual outdoor exercises (outdoor walks, jogging, running, biking) are allowed within the general area of their residence.
  • Non-contact sports are allowed in areas under GCQ with restrictions and GCQ.
  • Indoor sports courts and venues and indoor tourist attraction is 50% allowed in areas under GCQ.
  • Venues for meetings, conferences, exhibitions is 50% allowed in areas under GCQ. Meanwhile, in areas under GCQ with restriction is 30% allowed (may add up to additional 10% if granted by the safety seal if it used for social events).
  • Personal care services (salons, parlors, beauty clinics and alike.,) is 50% allowed in areas under GCQ. Meanwhile, 40% is allowed only for services not requiring the removal of facemask. May add up to 10% if it is granted by the safety seal in areas under GCQ with restriction.
  • Outdoor tourist attraction is 50% allowed in areas under GCQ. Meanwhile, only 30% is allowed in areas under GCQ with restrictions.
  • Specialized market of the DOT (staycation/DOT accredited accommodations) is allowed in GCQ, while in areas under GCQ with restriction is also allowed but individual must follow MPHS, safety protocols, without age restrictions) Staycation hotels with CAOS – up to 100% venue capacity; other DOT-accredited accommodation establishments – 30%; with LGU oversight.
  • Indoor dining is are allowed in GCQ and GCQ with restriction but only 50% and 30% capacity are allowed respectively.
  • Outdoor dining (Al fresco) is 50% allowed in GCQ with restriction.
  • Religious Activities, wakes, weddings, baptism is 10% allowed in areas under MECQ but LGUs may increase up to 30% necrological services, wakes, inurnment, funerals only to immediate family members. Meanwhile, 30% are allowed in areas under GCQ and GCQ with restriction and LGUs can increase up to 50%.
  • Interzonal travel from NCR Plus areas are allowed in areas under GCQ but subject to destination LGU restriction while in areas under GCQ with restriction is also allowed but subject to destination LGU restrictions, For point-to-point travel, allowed age restriction but with testing before travel requirement.
  • Interzonal travel within NCR Plus areas are allowed in all areas.
  • 18 to 65 years old are allowed to go out in areas under MECQ, GCQ with restriction and GCQ.

Not Allowed in MECQ, GCQ with restriction and Ordinary GCQ

  • MECQ, GCQ with restrictions and GCQ are strictly prohibited in entertainment venues (bars, concert halls, theaters, etc.), recreational venues (internet cafes, billiards halls, arcades, etc.), amusement parks, fairs, playgrounds, kiddie rides, and cockfighting.
  • Horse racing with off-track betting is not allowed in areas under MECQ.
  • Indoor sports courts and venues and indoor tourist attraction are not allowed in areas under MECQ and GCQ with restriction.
  • Venues for meetings, conferences, exhibitions are not allowed in areas under MECQ.
  • Personal care services (salons, parlors, beauty clinics and alike.,) is not allowed in areas under MECQ.
  • Outdoor tourist attraction is not allowed in areas under MECQ.
  • Specialized market of the DOT (staycation/DOT accredited accommodations) is not allowed in areas under MECQ.
  • Indoor dining is not also allowed in areas under MECQ.
  • Outdoor dining (Al fresco) are not applicable in areas under MECQ and GCQ.
  • Interzonal travel from NCR Plus areas are not allowed but only limited to APOR only.
