MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has announced the job applications dates/ online registration and possible COVID-19 vaccination on Labor Day, May 1, 2021 for Local and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
According Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III of DOLE, aside from the Job Fair Program, the Local and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) will have the chance to get vaccinated on the said date.
To quote from Sec. Bello’s statement via PNA through a virtual presser,
Aside from the jobs fair and job summit. If ever there are vaccines available, according to Sec. Galvez, he will be rolling out the vaccination program on May 1 for our workers especially to our overseas Filipino workers (OFWs)
If the vaccines are there, he promised to give the OFWs and our workers in the essential services.
On COVID-19 vaccine quantity, he said,
He didn’t say the quantity. What is important, he said it is a good symbolism that on May 1 during the Labor Day celebration, the workers especially the OFWs will get vaccinated.
Secretary Bello added that they will seek permission to use the plaza near Manila City Hall as the possible COVID-19 vaccination site.
2021 Labor Day Job Application Schedule
Over 18,000 job vacancies from over 400 employers are reported to be available for the online job fair on May 1 to May 3, the department said.

Vaccination on the Workplace
According on the Guidelines imposed by DOLE, in accordance with the existing laws, rules and regulation issued by the Department of Health (DOH) and Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), the covered establishments and employers shall adopt and implement the Vaccination Policy in the workplace as part of their Occupational Health Program.
No cost of vaccination in the workplace shall be charge against, directly or indirectly to the employees.
