MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, through the Presidential spokesman Harry Roque has announced on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 the extension of Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) to NCR Plus starting May 1, 2021 until May 14, 2021.
The Department of Health (DOH) and the experts recommended the extension of MECQ in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan to further lessen the COVID-19 cases and decongest the hospitals.
The extension of the MECQ also include the provinces of Abra and Santiago City in Quirino Province from May 1 until the end of the month.
Here is the provisional Community Quarantine classification from May 1-31, 2021:

“This new community quarantine classification is subject to the appeals of the local government units,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.
In a pre-recorded briefing, Secretary Francisco Duque of DOH emphasized the timely update of Covid-19 cases in the country. He added that the new cases are declining compared in the past two days.
COVID-19 Updates as of April 28, 2021
In an ABS-CBN news report, the Secretary of Health Francisco Duque III said that on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, there were 6,895 new recorded cases in the country. 2,963 out of the 6,895 of the new recorded cases today were from the NCR, 1,478 were from Region IV-A and 866 were from Region 3.
The total active cases as of April 28, 2021 is 67,769. 115 were recorded death giving the total deaths of 17,031. The total recorded case in the country has ballooned to 1,020,495.
