Manila, Philippines – With the approval of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), the Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to recruit 434 professionals from various fields to join the police force.
As per Resolution No. 2021-0612, the recruitment of professionals includes lawyers, doctors, IT Experts, among others in the PNP through lateral entry for the ranks of Police Captain and Police Lieutenant.
PNP Chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar welcomed the said development as it will help the organization to accomplished more things.
“Makatutulong ang mga papasok na bagong medical officers sa pagtugon natin sa banta ng pandemya habang ang mga bagong abogado naman ay makatutulong sa ating kampanya at operasyon kontra kriminalidad,” PGen Eleazar said.
(The new addition of medical officers will help in addressing the threats of the pandemic while the new lawyers will aid in our campaign and operation towards criminality.)
“Ang mga IT experts naman ay maaaring makatulong sa atin para sa mga adjustments na ating gagawin para makasabay tayo sa ‘new normal.’ Makatutulong din sila sa pagsugpo natin sa iba’t-ibang uri ng cybercrime,” he added.
(Meanwhile, the IT experts can help us for the proposed adjustments for us to follow the trend of the new normal. They can also assist in eliminating various cybercrime threats.)
The PNP said that the recruitment is part of the PNP Lateral Entry Program from which the goal of the organization is to “develop the human resource and technical capability of the police force”.
Distribution of Vacancies
The NAPOLCOM said that the distribution of vacancies will be filled up with the following positions:

“The PNP shall only process applicants for positions which are identified by the PNP with career path; those who are included in the Index of Occupational Services, Occupational Groups, Classes and Salary Grades of the Department of Management; and those with approved qualification standards by the NAPOLCOM and confirmed by the Civil Service Commission.”
Through its guidelines set by the NAPOLCOM, PGen Eleazar assured that the PNP will strictly follow the recruitment of more professionals in the police force.
