Manila, Philippines – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Monday night, June 28 announced the approval of the recommendation of Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) the placement of National Capital Region (NCR)/Metro Manila, Bulacan and Rizal under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) “with some restrictions” until July 15, 2021.
Meanwhile, the nearby provinces of Laguna and Cavite will be placed under GCQ with “heightened restrictions”.
President Duterte also announced the placement of 21 cities and provinces under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) until July 15, 2021. The following provinces are: Cagayan, Apayao, Bataan, Lucena City, Puerto Princesa, Naga City, Iloilo City, Iloilo, Negros Oriental, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, Cagayan de Oro City, Davao City, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Butuan City, Dinagat Islands and Surigao Del Sur.
Meanwhile, twenty-six (26) other areas will be placed under Ordinary GCQ. Here is the summary of the new classifications:

The number of active cases in the Philippines is significantly decreasing to 51,567 with 5,795 reported new cases as of July 01..
As announced by the DOH, there were 2,859 new recoveries giving the total number of recoveries to 1,341,973.

As per DOH Covid-19 Tracker as of July 1, the capacity of hospitals in catering the Covid-19 patients nationwide is at a safe level because of the infection rates are declining. 55.98% or 1,915 out of 3,421 ICU beds were occupied . 46.15% or 9,010 out of 19,524 of the isolation beds were occupied and 43.30% or 5,282 or 12,198 of the war beds are occupied.
The Department likewise encourages the people to practice proper sanitation such as using alcohol-based or washing hands this also may protect us from spreading the virus.
