Manila, Philippines – A bill proposing to provide one-time monetary assistance of Php 15,000 for every Filipino household whose members have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The proposal, which will be proposed to the House of Representatives, proposes to provide Php15,000 in aid to fully vaccinated families.
Through House Bill 10644, or the proposed Vaccine Aid Act, filed by Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas, the Department of Social Welfare and Development will implement the aid in addition to its social amelioration activities.
To quote from Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas;
“This measure not only alleviates the suffering of our fellow Filipinos in this two-year global pandemic, it also helps solve the problem by encouraging science-backed vaccination and accelerating our achievement of herd immunity,”
“Vaccines save lives. Our nation’s strong vaccination drive has already shown that. Our program reflects the Filipino people’s values of bayanihan and damayan: to defeat COVID-19 and take back our normal lives from this virus, we need to help each other,”
The proposed assistance would be available to all eligible Filipino families that have completed the government’s recommended immunization program.
