MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) releases the latest weather update.
Forecast Weather Conditions
There is currently no active Tropical Cyclone within and outside the country. However, particular areas will have several heavy raindrops and thunderstorms.
Cagayan, Isabela, and the northern portion of Aurora will have “cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms” due to the Shear Line. This occurrence may bring “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.”
The Northeast Monsoon will continue to affect the rest of Northern Luzon, affecting specific areas differently. Apayao, Kalinga, and the rest of Cagayan Valley and Aurora will experience“cloudy skies with rains,” bringing “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.” On the other hand, Ilocos Region and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region will have “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains,” bringing “no significant impact” on the land area.
Localized thunderstorms will affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country, causing these areas to experience “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.” Due to the weather condition, residents should also prepare for “possible flash floods or landslides.”
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds moving from the northeast to the east. The condition of its coastal water will remain moderate to rough (2.1 to 4.0 meters).
Visayas and Mindanao can expect light to moderate winds from the east to the northeast, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions (0.6 to 2.5 meters).
