Forecast Weather Conditions

Upon monitoring the current weather, PAGASA has discovered 2 Low-Pressure-Areas (LPA) roaming the country. The first one is the previous LPA that is 290 km East of Maasin City, Southern Leyte (10.5°N, 127.5°E), and the other is the newly discovered one at 125 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (10.2°N, 117.7°E). PAGASA has yet to predict whether the new LPA will likely transform into a Tropical Cyclone.

The LPA and Shear Line will affect the Bicol Region and Quezon, bringing “cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.” Such weather conditions may cause “possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.”

The Northeast Monsoon continues to affect Luzon, bringing varying effects on the areas. Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao will have “cloudy skies with rains,” causing “possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains” to occur. On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will only experience “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains,” which brings “no significant effect” on the land areas.

The rest of the country will have “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms” due to the LPA and localized thunderstorms. This weather condition can also cause “possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.”
