MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) releases the latest weather update.
Forecast Weather Conditions
There is no active Tropical Cyclone within or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. However, PAGASA will keep monitoring the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) and its likelihood of transforming into a Tropical Depression.
Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region will have “cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms” due to the trough of LPA. This weather condition will likely bring “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.”
The Northern Monsoon will continue to affect Luzon, bringing varying effects to the area. Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region will be experiencing “cloudy skies with rains,” bringing “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.” However, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will only have “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains,” bringing “no significant impact” on the land areas.
On the other hand, the rest of the country will experience “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms” due to the trough of LPA and localized thunderstorms. This weather condition can also cause “possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.”
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
As in yesterday’s report, the country will continue to experience moderate to strong winds moving to the northeast. The condition of its coastal water will remain moderate to rough (1.2 to 4.0 meters).
