MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) releases the latest weather update.

Forecast Weather Conditions
The Low-Pressure Area (LPA) is now within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Based on the data gathered, the LPA is 280 km Southeast of Davao City (5.3°N, 127.4°E). PAGASA’s Tropical Cyclone-Threat Potential states that the likelihood of this LPA transforming into a Tropical Cyclone is low. However, PAGASA will continue to monitor it in case any changes occur.

Palawan, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao will have “cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms” due to the LPA. Such weather conditions will cause “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.”
The Northeast Monsoon will affect Cagayan Valley, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte, bringing “cloudy skies with rains.” Residents from these areas should also prepare for “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.”
The Northeast Monsoon will also affect Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. However, the effects on these areas will be less threatening. That’s because residents can expect “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains, which brings “no significant impact” on the land areas.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds moving to the northeast. The condition of its coastal water will be moderate to rough (2.5 to 4.0 meters).
Visayas and the rest of Luzon can also expect moderate to strong winds moving from the east to the northeast, with moderate to rough coastal water conditions (1.2 to 3.5 meters).
Mindanao will have light to moderate wind conditions, and their direction will be to the northeast. These areas can expect slight to moderate coastal water conditions (0.6 to 2.5 meters).
