MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) releases the latest weather update.

Forecast Weather Conditions
There is no active Tropical Cyclone within and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. However, PAGASA is currently monitoring a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) located 195 km South of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (8.0°N, 118.9°E). Based on the Tropical Cyclone-Threat Potential, the LPA’s likelihood of transforming into a typhoon is low, but its effect will still bring heavy rains and thunderstorms.

Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan are the areas that will be the center of the LPA, bringing “cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.” Due to these weather conditions, “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate, to at times, heavy rains” may occur.
The Northeast Monsoon will continue to affect Luzon, bringing varying effects to its areas. Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Aurora, and the rest of MIMAROPA will have “cloudy skies with rains,” bringing “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.” On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains,” bringing “no significant impact” on the land areas.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds moving to the northeast. The condition of its coastal water will remain moderate to rough (1.2 to 4.0 meters).
Visayas and Mindanao can expect moderate to strong winds from the east to the northeast, with moderate to rough coastal water conditions (1.2 to 4.0 meters).
