MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) releases the latest weather update.

Forecast Weather Conditions
A Low-Pressure Area (LPA) has recently entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility, and PAGASA is currently monitoring its activities. The location of the LPA is 1000 km East of Southeastern Mindanao (5.7°N, 134.6°E). Upon observation, PAGASA states that the LPA’s possibility of transforming into a Tropical Cyclone is low. However, monitoring its activities is ongoing should any changes occur.

Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao will have “cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms” due to the combined effect of the trough of LPA and the Shear Line. This weather condition can cause “possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.” Residents from the areas mentioned should prepare for these catastrophic events.
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon will experience “cloudy skies with rains” due to the continuous effect of the Northeast Monsoon. Because of this, “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate with, at times, heavy rains” may also occur in the areas.
On the other hand, the Northeast Monsoon will also affect Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. However, their weather will only be “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains,” bringing “no significant impact” on the land areas.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

The whole country will experience moderate to strong winds moving from the northeast to the east. The condition of its coastal water will remain moderate to rough (1.2 to 4.5 meters).
