MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) releases the latest weather update.

Forecast Weather Conditions
There is currently no Tropical Cyclone within and outside the country. However, the effects of both the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) trough and the Northeast Monsoon are causing heavy rains and thunderstorms in most areas in the country.

The trough of LPA affects Visayas, Mindanao, the Bicol Region, and the southern portion of Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, today, bringing “cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.” Due to this weather condition, “possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains” may occur.
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of MIMAROPA, Quezon, and Aurora will have “cloudy skies with rains” due to the Northeast Monsoon. Residents in these areas should also be alert for “possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains.”
The Northeast Monsoon will also affect Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. However, these areas will only have “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains,” bringing “no significant impact” on the land areas.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds moving from the northeast to the east. The condition of its coastal water will be moderate to rough (1.2 to 4.0 meters).
Visayas and Mindanao can also expect moderate to strong winds, moving from the northeast to the north, with moderate to rough coastal water conditions (1.2 to 4.0 meters).
