Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will be issuing an amendment for the emergency used of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines for the children aged 12 to 15.
The Pfizer pharmaceutical company applied for a permit for the emergency use authorization (EUA) last May 20, 2021.
FDA chief Dr. Eric Domingo said that the amendment will be issued within the week.

The Pfizer vaccines earlier approved by the United States for the used in vaccination of children aged 12-17.
Meanwhile, Moderna vaccine is also preparing to seek for Emergency Use Authorizations for their vaccines to be administered to adolescent aged 12-17.
Earlier on Tuesday, the United States (US) biotech firm Moderna said that mRNA -1273 COVID-19 vaccine is “highly effective” in age 12-17.
Covid-19 Vaccine Updates
So far, the country has received a total of 5.5 million doses of SinoVac COVID-19 vaccines from which 1 million doses were donated by the Chinese government.
The Philippine government has distributed at least 7,767,290 doses of COVID vaccines as of May 25, 2021. Each person needs 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
As of May 25, 1,029,061 were fully vaccinated and 3,466,314 received their first dose. The government has administered a total of 4,495,375 doses of vaccines in total as of this writing.
The government achieved a 7-day average of vaccinated individuals of 108,540. Likewise, they (government) assure that the vaccines are free for all.

Latest COVID-19 Tally as of May 26, 2021 (Philippines)
As of May 26, the Department of Health (DOH) said that the number of active cases in the Philippines has increased by 5,310 giving a total active cases to 46,037. 7,408 were reported new recoveries giving the total number of recoveries to 1,127,770.
