PNP COVID-19 Death Toll, Now at 53

MANILA, Philippines – In a Facebook post dated April 25, 2021, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said that there are now 53 deaths in the department due to COVID-19.

According to PNP Chief Debold Sinas, the 53rd fatality is a 54-year-old male Police Lieutenant assigned in Camp Crame.

It is said that the latest police COVID-19 related fatality was hospitalized on April 14, 2021.

He was scheduled to undergo hemodialysis from April 21-23 but was not able to pursue to do unstable blood pressure and low oxygen level. On April 24, he passed away.

The entire PNP would like to extend our condolences to the bereaved family of the police officer and assure them of financial assistance and benefits.

I would like to remind all our personnel to double your protection against this virus, as one of the frontliners, the people and of course your family need you. If you are not feeling well, immediately seek medical attention. Avail of the free consultation.

COVID Latest Info in the Philippines

The number of Covid-19 in the Philippines has reached 989,380, with recorded 9,661 new Covid cases on Saturday, April 24, 2021.

9% of the total cases in the Philippines are active or a total of 89,485 from which 22,877 are recorded recovered.

DOH said that 145 are recorded new deaths giving a total death toll to 16,674.

DOH likewise reminded the public to practice the use of protective measures such as wearing mask and wearing face shield.

The Department also encourages the people to practice proper sanitation such as using alcohol-based or washing hands this also may protect us from spreading the said virus.
