Manila, Philippines – Vice President Leni Robledo launched Vaccine Express program through drive-thru bakuna service in on-the-go Toda and Pedicab drivers in City of Manila last June 22, 2021.

The Vaccine Express launched by the Office of the Vice President with the partnership of City government of Manila, UBE Express, Seaoil, Smart Communications, and Cultural Center of the Philippines.

VP Leni said that more than 2,000 Toda and Pedicab drivers had been vaccinated on the Day 1 of the program.

“More than 2,000 vaccinated sa Day 1 ng ating OVP #VaccineExpress sa Manila!

VP Leni also announced that TODA and Pedicab drivers were offered Php 500.00 gas card incentive with exchange of the vaccine jab to the drivers.

As of 12 noon, nasa 900 drivers na ang nagpa bakuna,” VP Leni said.

The OVP team thanked the City Government of Manila especially to Mayor Isko Moreno who are being supportive since the program has been launched.

“Thank you ulit kina Mayor Isko at sa City Gov’t of Manila for being supportive of this collaboration! Looking forward sa susunod pa nating pagtutulungan,” she said.

“We at the OVP are blessed to have our #AngatBuhay partners, na walang sawa sa pagsuporta sa ating initiatives. We are grateful to UBE Express, Seaoil, Shell, and Smart Communications for all their help,” she added.

She also thanked the screeners, vaccinators, volunteer doctors, nurses, and other medical staff, to UST College of Nursing, FEU and UP Manila who truly helped with the program.

VP Leni gives credit to the Cultural Center of the Philippines for allowing them to use the vaccination site of the said activities. She also thanked to the Philippine Army, PNP and Coast Guard who helped the activity all throughout the vaccination program.
