What is the cause of death of former President Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino?

MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno ‘Noynoy” Aquino III died on June 24, 2021 after being rushed at the Capitol Medical Center in Quezon City.

Cause of death

The Aquino family through a statement read by Pinky Aquino Abellada said that the former president died from a renal disease secondary to diabetes. She added that Noynoy passed away in his sleeep around 6:30 in the morning, Thursday, June 24, 2021.

Aquino as been hospitalized since 2019 due to various illnesses. He was even confined at the Makati Medical Center Intensive Care unit during that time. The former president, a smoker, also admitted that he suffered from Pneumonia. He was also undergoing dialysis and recently performed underwent heart operation.

President Aquino is the only son of the Former Presidents Corazon Aquino and Benigno Aquino. He was elected as the President of the Philippines on June 30, 2016 succeeding the former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. On 2016, his term ended and was succeeded by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Pnoy is the brother of Kris Aquino, a multimedia personality, Aurora Corazon “Pinky” Cojuangco Aquino-Abellada, Victoria Elisa Aquino-Dee and Maria Elena “Ballsy” Cojuangco Aquino-Cruz.

    His greatest legacy is to give the philippines a democratic way of winning against the bully china, the Arbitral Ruling of UNCLOS in favor of the philippines. You set a good example to serve your country and the people. Rest in peace my President Aquino
